Building Another Home/ Impacting the Fire Department

Coaches,

Many of you may remember that Kennedy High School FB team from Mt Angel, OR raised $10,000 to build a home for a family in Peru last year ... 5 players also went down over Christmas break to paint the house.

Their goal is to do it again. Last Saturday they hosted a fundraiser dinner and raffle again to build their second home. 170 people came and they raised $6,000. Coaches cooked, Moms put it on plates, players served ... a team effort.

They will now turn to writing letters to friend and family members to raise the rest.

Another impressive moment when Head Coach Randy Traeger received the below email from the head of the local fire department ... You never know how many lives you are influencing.

Randy is one of our speakers at this years clinic on April 24th in Cincinnati.

Greetings Coach Traeger,

Attached you will find a few pages from the Mt Angel Fire District Volunteer Handbook. These are the philosophy pages and as you will see it looks similar to your Kennedy Football philosophy. We hope you do not mind that we are using many of your written words here. Now the men and women of MAFD are being “coached” by your influence and this will continue many years into the future.
